Everything about pharmacy in Latvia and abroad – in pharmacy news portal www.farmacija-mic.lv

Since 2003, the only pharmacy news portal in Latvia for the professionals in this field - www.farmacija-mic.lv has been functioning. The portal has been created and managed by the Medicine Information Centre.

This portal is the first internet medium summarizing wide range of information about pharmaceutical companies in Latvia, medicines, standard regulations of the pharmaceutical activities, professional qualification certification of pharmacists, various events, job offers and job seeking. Since the beginning of 2003, the portal offers the most recent events in pharmacy and medicine in Latvia and worldwide, comments and opinions by the pharmacy experts, information by the Pharmacists’ Society of Latvia and the other largest organizations in this field.

On the portal, various data bases containing useful information are available, as well as links to the List of reimbursable medicines and Drug Register of LR, which contains all the medicines registered in Latvia.

In the thematic sections, statistical data on medicine market, current information for the pharmacy students, job offers in the field of pharmacy are available.

The portal provides a convenient access to the websites of the state institutions related to the pharmacy field – the Ministry of Health, State Agency of Medicines of Latvia, National Health Service, and Health Inspectorate.

The event calendar provides information about events which are important for healthcare specialists.

During your spare time, you may find and read the articles from the journal “Materia Medica”; besides, the portal provides an opportunity for the pharmacists to participate in the process of continuing education, taking the continuous education tests extramurally and obtaining the points for recurrent certification without leaving your home or office.

Every day, more than thousand visitors read and comment our news; predominantly, the visitors are pharmacists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
